The Umbrella Foundation is particularly active in the Nuwakot district near the Kathmandu Valley. In this area they support the villagers in various areas like health, agriculture and education.
Within the projects of the Umbrella Foundation supported Unica Foundation the technical aspects for the schools.
In 2008, there are four schools equipped with solar energy systems and biogas plants. In 2009, additional 2 schools and a training center have been equipped with a solar energy system.
