The Unica Foundation has set the date for the upcoming edition of the Welloop. The annual relay race on the business park in Hoevelaken where Unica is located, will be organized after the summer on Thursday 12 September. It is the sixth time that the relay race will be organized.
During the event, the participants walk as many laps of around 900 meters as possible in one hour to raise money for the Unica Foundation. Runners can register individually as well as in a team. Runners can therefore also run in relay form, allowing both experienced and recreational runners to participate.
In addition to the relay race, a VIP meeting for sponsors from the partner program of the Unica Foundation is organized during the event. The contribution raised from the Welloop will go to the water and sanitation project in Ramkot. This project provides 335 households and 2,000 inhabitants with the necessary water supply and toilets and is the largest project the Unica Foundation has started so far in Nepal.
The sponsor run starts at 5.30 p.m., the walk-in is from 4.30 p.m. The event will be concluded with a nice ceremony with a buffet and a drink. Registration will start later this spring via www.welloop.nl.
Nepal
The Unica Foundation supports aid projects in Nepal by sharing knowledge and skills in the field of (sustainable) technology with the local population in a structural and sustainable way. The foundation was founded in 2007 by technical service provider Unica and is aimed at providing technical support to development organizations for basic necessities. The Unica Foundation has now helped almost 75,000 Nepalese with running water, solar systems, improved cooking stoves and biogas discharge pipes. The foundation can only implement these projects thanks to fundraising events and donations from socially involved companies and citizens.
