A delegation from the Rotary Club Pokhara Lakeside visited the Unica Foundation in the Netherlands last week. The guests from Nepal wanted to see with their own eyes what drives the Unica Foundation and were introduced to board members and volunteers of the foundation in Hoevelaken.
The visit to the Unica Foundation was part of an exchange program with the Rotary club Zwolle IJsselland. Together, the rotary’s in Pokhara and Zwolle work on financing projects from the Nepelase Red Cross Society (NRCS). When the Unica Foundation visited Pokhara at the end of last year, it donated a new 4×4 ambulance to the Nepalese Red Cross on behalf of two Rotary associations in the Netherlands.
Shukra Raj Subedi, project leader of all the projects that the Unica Foundation manages together with the Nepalese Red Cross, was also part of the delegation that came to the Netherlands. During the visit to the Unica Foundation, Shukra spoke extensively about the activities that the Red Cross performs in Nepal. Of course, he mainly focused on the projects that the society does together with the Unica Foundation.
The Unica Foundation explained how the foundation was created and how fundraising and recruiting volunteers is done. The visit was concluded with a tour at the Unica premises in Hoevelaken, in order to have a little more background about the activities of the company that forms the basis of the Unica Foundation.
